Pioneering a path for men's mental health.
I'm Angus Collins, known for my achievements in extreme adventures, but my most significant battles were fought silently against severe mental health issues. These personal challenges, which remained hidden to most, were handled in solitude—a common scenario for many. My journey from absolute despair to finding a true purpose has made me determined to help others that find themselves in a similar place to where I was.
Let's get men's mental health on the map.
My mission has naturally formed from personal struggles and, frankly, finding the resilience to survive. Whilst great strides have been made in building awareness of men’s mental health, it’s so frustrating to see that despite the best intentions, significant gaps remain in enacting real, impactful change.
My aim is to harness this challenge as a catalyst to build a platform that drives measurable and meaningful advancements in men’s mental health support and particularly suicide prevention. The bigger the platform, the more people I can reach.
I will complete a pioneering solo row around England, Scotland, and Wales. This formidable physical challenge represents more than endurance—like any challenge of this kind, it's usually the mental battles that are more difficult to overcome than the physical ones. This challenge symbolises the resilience needed to face mental health challenges - it will certainly be a journey of survival.
The boat used for the Great British Odyssey is a bespoke design, able to hold up to 60 days worth of supplies and all safety equipment. At a length of 6m, it will be the smallest and lightest ocean rowing boat ever built.
Angus is working with world renowned yacht design and naval architects OwenClarke. Having designed some of the fastest sailing yachts on the world, they are now excited to be part of the team to design the fastest coastal rowing boat.
Without compromising on weight or strength, the bespoke boat will be built using recycled carbons, recycled PET plastic bottles and flax fibres.
I'm ready to conquer the seas, but I need your sponsorship to make it happen.
This campaign is going to be the big good news story of summer 2025 and I would not want you to miss out… so, come on board and enjoy the ride.
